Kelvedon St Mary's - Essex County Boys' Football Champions!

Not to be outdone by our girls' team, our boys' football team (plus one girl) competed in and won the Essex County Boys' football final today. Everyone played absolutely superbly during the tournament and our style of play was easily the best on show. I am ever so proud of our football teams this year; it is a marvelous achievement for both girls' and boys' teams to be representing the Colchester Blackwater Partnership in the outer Essex and London regional finals next March.

Kelvedon St Mary's - Essex County Girls' Football Champions!

At The Len Forge Centre in Southend today, our girls' football team became the Essex County champions. This is an absolutely fantastic achievement and means they are the best team out of 400 schools in Essex. Everyone played their part whether it was ensuring we only conceded two goals in the whole tournament by defending expertly, providing the chances in midfield or scoring the goals against the opposition. Well done everyone, you were amazing! (a very proud) Mr Faithfull

p.s. The regional finals will be played in Harlow in March.

 

 

Basketball Tournament

Mr Allen has been busy coaching some of our year six children the skills for basketball during his after-school club this term. Today, he took a team of girls and boys to the Sainsbury's School Games basketball tournament at St Benedict's secondary school. The children performed admirably, in what was their first competitive competition, winning four, drawing one and losing just the two. This meant the team finished 3rd overall and received a bronze medal. Well done to all of the children who competed and thank you to Mr Allen for giving up his time to help coach the children and give them this opportunity. Mr Faithfull

Our school football team is on the lookout for a shirt sponsor. This would enable us to purchase sixteen new shirts and allow our team to look just as good as we play when we are on the pitch. Sponsorship would cost a one off fee of £300 and includes a front sponsorship logo which would remain on the shirt. Girls' Football - Kelvedon Cup 2015

Today our school hosted the inaugural Kelvedon Cup - a girls' football competition for local schools. Kelvedon St Mary's entered two teams and were joined by Home Farm, Colchester High and Feering. The tournament was played in a great spirit by all the teams and it was great to see so many talented footballers and girls with a massive smile on their faces.
