Kelvedon 6 v Gosbecks 1
Our first CPSL (click for link) football league match ended in a 6 v 1 victory for Kelvedon today. We played very well for spells of the game and created many chances against the opposition. Man of the match : Toby Murton.

Boys' Football Tournament - Colchester Blackwater
Our school football team played their first tournament of the year today over at Shrub End in Colchester. The tournament was hosted by the Colchester Blackwater Partnership and is the preliminary stage before the Colchester Blackwater finals in November. The team played eight matches against different schools in the partnership, winning 7 and drawing one - this meant we were tournament winners and qualify for the next round. Tag rugby tournament 7/10/16
An excited team of Year 4 children set off early doors this morning to play tag rugby in a tournament organised by Maldon RFC.
After arriving safely and some last minute practising with Mr Salmon the children embarked on five games. Playing five minutes each way with official referees the children played extremely well. They defended, scored tries, tackled well and worked hard to support each other throughout their play.
The Year 4 team were followed on by a team of Year 5 children who turned up to play after lunch in their age group. These children also showed great teamwork and with the support of Mr Taylor began to develop good defensive strategies as well as quick runs down the wings resulting in several tries.
As per RFC regulations, all under 12 competition now reward teams for team play and discipline, rather than a winning team award so the final score line of these matches was irrelevant. Suffice to say both our teams showed great potential and some moments of brilliance in their play. Well done to both teams for representing Kelvedon St Mary's in such fine fashion.
