Girls' Football - Montgomery 1 v Kelvedon 4
Our girls' football team beat Montgomery 4 v 1 this afternoon. Well done girls!
Yesterday, the girl’s football team travelled to Montgomery
primary school in Colchester. The girls played fantastically and won 4-1. They were 1-0 down until Lilia shot but hit
their keeper. Amy then tapped in the
rebound. Then the half time whistle blew. There was a lot of pressure from both
teams making the half time score 1-1.
The second half kicked off. After a few minutes, Lilia then
nicked another goal off of Montgomery to make it 2-1. After a lot more pressure, Amy shot and she
tipped the ball over the top of the keeper making it 3-1. Just before the
whistle blew for full time, Amy and Ruby passed the ball back and forth to each
other and then Amy got her hat-rick and tapped the ball in (4-1). The whistle blew
for full time. Another victory for Kelvedon St Mary’s Girl’s football team to
be proud of.
Kelvedon 6 v Monkwick 0
Our school football team won their penultimate league match against Monkwick six nil this afternoon. The match was played at a fast pace with a debut for Luke Innes-House and a second match for Zizo. The result ensured that we will finish the season as the league winners for the third consecutive year. Well done everyone! Mr Faithfull
Yesterday, Kelvedon played a local
team, Monkwick, and played well together. After the whistle blew to start off
the match, Kelvedon started alertly and got an early goal to kick the match off
at 1-0. The team kept on working hard for a couple of minutes and clinched
another goal. The ball kept going up and down the pitch with no goals conceded.
We were dominating possession but struggling to score however later
on, Ethan crossed the ball on to Toby’s head and he placed into the top corner.
As soon as Monkwick kicked off, Kelvedon instantly intercepted a light weighted
pass and punished them for the mistake that they made. Just before the second
half, we counter attacked them from the goalkeeper’s throw to James, who then
played it to Kieran. Kieran drove with the ball and eventually shot into the
back of the net.
The second half kicked off, but for
the first ten minutes nothing really happened. After a while, James and Ethan
kept playing it back and forth to each other, in a triangle, and got past their
defence and assisted Luke Towler for the 6th goal of the match.
There were no other goals in the match therefore the final score was 6-0.

As the season begins to draw to a close, we have two league matches to play (against Monkwick and St James') - a point will see us regain the title.
