CPSL Athletics

On Tuesday afternoon a squad of children from Years 3-6 travelled over to Colchester Garrison to compete against 12 schools in an athletics tournament.  With a proper running track this presented a lovely opportunity for many of the children to compete in a new environment, particularly the year 3 children who were selected to represent the school for the first time.

We had the good fortune of taking an army of cheering supporters with us and the children were well prepared for both the field and track events.  Everyone performed fantastically and were rewarded with an array of medals across every year group and in all events.  There were plenty of smiles all round and the children supported each other fabulously.  As always it was incredibly rewarding to be part of this occasion with such well behaved children and I look forward to many more.

To complete the day, the team results were announced.  Years 3/4 came 4th overall. They should be thoroughly proud of themselves as they were only one point behind 3rd place.
The hard work of Years 5/6 was rightly rewarded with 1st place overall and two of our Year 6 gold medalists took pride in collecting the shield, which is now on display in school.

Many thanks again for all the staff and parental support on the day.  It really makes a big difference to being able to participate in these events.
