League Football Fixture : Kelvedon 10 v 0 Brinkley Grove

Our school football team played their second league fixture of the season - winning by ten goals to nil against Brinkley Grove from Colchester. Despite the poor weather conditions, I was very impressed that the children kept making great off the ball runs and backed this up with accurate passing and clever through balls. We even scored a few goals from a corner routine we have been working on recently. Well played everyone. Mr Faithfull

Essex County Football Champions 2016

Our all conquering school football team continued their fine run of form by winning the Essex schools' county football finals at Shrub End, Colchester. As a result, they retain the Malcolm Moffatt Trophy they won last year - what a superb achievement!

The team sailed through the qualifying group winning five games and drawing two with only two goals conceded. In the semi-final, they defeated the runners up from the other group (3 v 0) and went on to win the final 1 v 0 (beating a team they had earlier drawn against in the group stage).

We have become very accustomed to winning matches and tournaments over the last few years however to retain the county trophy is no mean feat and one that is rarely attained.

Everyone played their part today and contributed to this success - I was very proud to watch on from the touchline. As tournament winners, we now get to represent Essex in the Southern England regional finals in 2017.

Congratulations to everyone who played in the tournament. Mr Faithfull

Colchester United - Year 5/6 Football Festival

Members of our boys' development squad took part in Colchester United's football festival on 22nd November. They played 8 games of which they won 4, drew 2 and lost just 2. As a result, they finished in the top 3 of the unofficial league table. There were some outstanding individual performances but above all it was a great TEAM effort. Well done boys! Mr Barnes

Congratulations to everyone who played and thank you to Mr Barnes for taking the boys to this tournament. Mr Faithfull

Colchester Blackwater Girls' Football Tournament

Our girls' football team had their first competitive football this year playing in the Colchester Blackwater football tournament. The squad, which was made up of some girls that played last year and others that were taking part for the first time, played extremely well. They won all of their group games without conceding a goal and narrowly lost in the final in a penalty shootout after the match finished 0 v 0. What a fantastic start to the football season - it bodes well for future league matches we have during the rest of the year. Mr Faithfull
