Kelvedon Victorious in CPSL Cricket Cup

An exciting afternoon over at Castle Park in Colchester resulted in our cricket team winning all of their matches and retaining the CPSL cricket cup. The team was expertly captained by Ned Overbury and everyone contributed during the tournament - whether it was scoring runs, bowling tightly or fielding efficiently. Match scores can be seen below and the tournament report will follow tomorrow. Well done to all of the children and thank you to Franc's mum for helping me transport the children in the mini-bus. Group Games:

• Kelvedon (314 for 2) defeated St Thomas Moore (198 for 5) by 116 runs
• Kelvedon (291 for 3) defeated St John's (231 for 6) by 60 runs
• Kelvedon (305 for 1) defeated Friar's Grove (222 for 3) by 83 runs
• Kelvedon (258 for 2) defeated Myland (196 for 10) by 62 runs

Final:

• Kelvedon (259 for 2) defeated Heathlands (248 for 3) by 11 runs 

Essex school games - netball 29/6/17

Taking a trip down to Basildon were the school netball team, who qualified for the Essex finals after their victory in the recent CPSL tournament at Gilberd School.

Wearing the new school kit, the children played 14 matches of an incredibly high standard. They faced stronger passing and more confident teams than any opposition they've met so far.  Working hard as a team they showed great resilience and came a credible 11th after winning six of their matches.

It gave the team a good grounding and understanding of where to develop their play next year.  Well done to the Year six members who have shown commitment to training and the team, setting a great example to follow.

Many thanks to Mrs Short and Mrs Colgrave for their time and efforts with the team over this year, also to Mr Walsh who supported the team at this event.
