Athletics Finals Day

Today, jumping, throwing and running lay ahead of the KS2 children who had already competed in their classes to make the finals. We made good use of the latest addition to our facilities, a long jump pit, in the morning with the long jump finals running alongside the throwing competition. The running races followed in the afternoon, where parents were welcomed in to support the children racing in both short distance and long distance runs.

The children performed incredibly well and should all be very proud of their efforts.  The support from the children for each other was wonderful as was the continued support from the parents.

Many thank you to all those who helped the afternoon run smoothly.

Gosbeck 0 v Kelvedon 8

Our school football team played in a match away at Gosbecks Primary School earlier today. In sweltering heat, the boys put in their best performance of the season, completing an 8 nil victory. I was very impressed with the way they passed the ball (on a tough pitch) and kept up their fitness levels despite the heat. Well done! Mr Faithfull

Year 5/6 Cross Country

It didn't rain or snow so we set off for the CBSSP cross country competition.

We took a team of 3 girls and 3 boys for both year groups so we had four races to support.  The course for all the competitors was 1200m long and took a route around the entire Rugby club ground.
Each race contained at least 60 - 70 children, which meant a great deal of competition, however we have spent a lot of time discussing long distance running and how important it is to run your own race and find your own pace.

As usual our children performed excellently and I am extremely proud of every one of them, not only while they were running but also in organising themselves and in their exemplary behaviour while out representing our school.

Many thanks for our continued parental support.  It is greatly appreciated by myself and the children.
