Girls' League Match - Prettygate 1 v 10 Kelvedon

Our girls' football team wrapped up their season with a commanding 10 v 1 victory against Prettygate Junior school. All of the girls played well today and the goals were shared around the side. I will submit a finalised league table once all the other schools have completed their fixtures. Mr Faithfull

Montgomery 2 v Kelvedon 3

Our girls' football team had an extremely close game against Montgomery Juniors today. Despite trailing  2 v 1 at half time, the girls responded magnificently in the second half and prevailed as 3 v 2 winners. A super all-round team performance, with tough defending; excellent goal keeping; accurate passing and deadly finishing helped contribute towards the win. Player of the match - Tua

CPSL Football Tournament - Colchester United

Our final football tournament of the year took place at Colchester United's football stadium today and I am delighted to report we ended up as champions. The boys won every game they played and only conceded one goal during the whole tournament. In the semi-final we defeated Gosbecks and then Prettygate in the final. All the players contributed to the win and it was a lovely way to wrap up our football this year. Below are some photos with our cup trophy and medals and also our league shield. Well done for a super season everyone. Mr Faithfull
Player of the tournament - Ben Towler
Top goal-scorer - Toby Murton

The boys and girls who represented the team all contributed during the season and our consistency and stylish play was fantastic to watch. Well done everyone who played in the team and helped us achieve this super feat.

Girls' Essex FA Coaching

The third and final coaching session provided by Essex Football Association for our girls' squad took place this afternoon. This session consisted of a variation of football tennis to encourage good control, accurate passing and volleying followed by some three-a-side games on small pitches. Once again the girls had a great time and everyone took a full part in the activities. The Essex FA coaches have been so impressed by the attitude, courtesy and skill that the girls have displayed that everyone in attendance tonight received a medal as a momento of their time with us. In turn we presented Kevin and Sam with a signed photograph of the squad which they have told us will be displayed at the Essex FA headquarters. Finally I once again have to say how proud I am of our girls squad - they have represented our school superbly and as a result Essex FA have already agreed to deliver some similar coaching sessions in the next football season. Mr Barnes

Thank you to Mr Barnes for liaising with Essex FA and organising this opportunity for our girls' football squad. Mr Faithfull

Netball Victory

A team of netball players set off today with Miss Hutley, Mrs Yates and Mr Barnes, to play in the High Fives tournament hosted by Gilberd School.  They had quite a day!

Showing great team work and skills the team won every match in their pool, placing them into the final against the Pool B winners, Feering 2.  A tightly played game saw the scoreline at 1-1 until 15 seconds before the final whistle when Kelvedon St Mary's scored to make the final result a 2 -1 win.

A great result for the school netball team who have worked hard at training to achieve this result. They now look forward to the Essex school games finals in the next couple of weeks.  A big thank you to all the staff involved, another school success!
