Our school football team had to be at their resilient best to overcome the current league leaders four nil in a match against Prettygate. With a depleted squad and no substitutes, everyone played their part and really stepped up to the plate with a powerful performance. There were some tired but happy children at the end of the match. Well done everyone!
Goals - Kieran x 2, Toby x 1 and Franc x 1
Player of the match - Ethan

Netball - Prettygate v Kelvedon 2/2/17
Year 5 and 6
second netball match
Prettygate 4 v Kelvedon 5
Year 5 and 6
played their second netball match on the 2nd February. It was against Prettygate
and we were determined to play well because Prettygate had beaten us in the
athletics earlier this week.
First all
the children had to go to the office so Mrs Short could make sure that everyone
was there. This time it was only Mrs Short and Mrs Bull because Mrs Colgrave
was ill. When Mrs Short had made sure that everyone was there, we got on the
bus - luckily we did not get lost like last time.
When we got
there we got our bibs on and stood in our positions ready to start. We were
nervous because they looked like they were good at netball and they had tall
players. After 7 minutes’ Pretty gate had scored 1 and we had scored 2. 14 minutes
in we had scored 2 and Prettygate had scored 2. At the end we scored 3 more
times meaning we had scored 5 times and they had only scored 4.
We said hip
hip hooray for Prettygate and they did the same. After that we went inside and
had a drink before we left to go back to school.
We won our
second match.

Sportshall Athletic finals - 1st Feb 2017
What a great event!
After making it through to the next round of the Indoor Athletics, we knew it would be big competition. The children faced 2 schools they had already competed against, and come third to, plus the three top schools from a later round.
However, rather than shying away from the fact this would be tough, everyone rose to the occasion with aplomb. Without doubt, every child gave 100% and neither myself, Mr Faithfull or Mr Walsh could have asked any more from them.
The final results were called out in reverse order and began with:
Overall winners were Prettygate with just two more points at 160.
As usual, we feel immensely proud of the way the children performed and competed throughout the morning. They were delighted with their medals and the progress in their individual events was excellent.
Many thanks to Mrs Hale for helping with transport today.

CPSL Football League - Heathlands 0 v Kelvedon 2
Kelvedon Vs Heathlands
On Thursday 26th January, Kelvedon played Heathlands. We got there by travelling on the school mini bus; Mr Faithfull and Mr Walsh came with us on the journey to the match. Despite the freezing cold weather, we managed to get through the whole warm-up.
As the game started, we found it hard to control the ball as the ground was very hard which made the ball bounce a lot. 10 minutes into the game Toby and Kieran came up with a great link of play when Toby played a ball across the box to Kieran for a tap in.
At half time we made a few substitutions - Amy came on for Toby and Luke T came on for Ethan. In the second half, when Toby got subbed back on, Toby set Kieran, and Kieran accurately scored in the top right corner. The final result was 2-0 and at the end of the game we all shook hands.
This win continues our 100% winning record in the league.

Year 5 and 6 Netball match
Match report by Evie and Evie-Rose
North 1 v Kelvedon 15
On the 23rd of January Years 5 and 6 went to their first
netball match at North Primary. We all had a very enjoyable time.
At 2.55 pm all the children in the netball match went to Mrs
Short’s class room. Then they had to go to the hall so Mrs Short and Mrs Colgrave could count
all 8 of the children - everyone was there so we started heading to the bus.
After all of the children made sure that they had everything they needed, Mrs
Bull made sure everyone had seatbelts on, then she started to drive.
In the bus we put some music on and that got the
children very excited. Mrs Bull was very silly and took the wrong turn so we
had to turn around at McDonalds, that got everyone very excited but then we
headed out of the car park of McDonalds. When the children got off the bus,
they followed Mrs Short and Mrs Colgrave to the school playground of North primary. They looked like they were great at Netball - they were very tall.
Everyone put their bibs on and stood in the right places
and waited for the whistle to blow. When 4 minutes had past no one had scored
and we had to change our positions. Then after 6 minutes we had scored lots of
hoops and North Primary had scored one. Everyone played really well and we
ended up winning our first match 15 - 1. At the end we all said hip hip hooray
for North Primary and they did the same. We all shook hands with them.
